About me
Lukas Belka
As an insurance professional with more than 17 years of experience across reinsurance and primary insurance I help organizations use data and agentic AI to improve processes, automate work, and turn complex information into actionable insights. I do that by combining deep industry knowledge with hands-on expertise in IT transformation, data, data anlytics and AI.
I started my carreer in reinsurance in 2009 and have managed multiple projects since then. Among others, I headed the PMO of an international IT transformation program focused on transforming the organiozation toward agile ways of working and accelerating IT delivery.
Since 2020, my focus has been on data modeling and analytics (both certified). I have built and delivered multiple data products end-to-end, from data models and automated pipelines to dashboards and reporting capabilities, turning complex, multi-entity insurance data into actionable insights and measurable improvements in business KPIs.
Since 2025, I have been focusing on agentic AI and its application to the insurance industry.

Specialisations
- Data ModelingDevelopment of data models from the ground up, starting with the business processees and requirements for the generic data model and transfering them into a logical data model with proper relationships and dependencies. Finally creating the physical data model in a modern stack, for example combining snowflake with dbt.
- Data EngineeringDesigning and building datapipelines in tools based on Python and SQL.
- Data AnalyticsCreating Data Products end-to-end providing insights that enable fast decision making.
- Agentic AIUsing AI Agents for exploratory tasks as well as automation, depending on the use case. I have build a multi-agent application (orchestrator plus three worker agents) entirely via text-based communication using hugging face's smolagents package and Gemini's flash models with the following steps: Inventory check -> Quote generation -> Order fulfilment
